A serene farm
A tranquil farm in the heart of the Turkish countryside, just an hour and a half from Istanbul, offers four beautiful Kontio homes designed especially for weekend getaways.
“After 26 years in the corporate world, I longed for a new chapter. One that would allow me the freedom to manage my own time while keeping me connected to the energy of work and creativity. As I searched for a project that I could truly bring to life, Kontio appeared at exactly the right moment,” says landowner Vedat Bayrak.
“Years ago, my wife and I bought a plot of land surrounded by nature with our first savings. Over time, this piece of land - just an hour and a half from Istanbul, one of the world’s busiest metropolises - became the heart of our dream of country living close to the city.
What began with a single wooden house soon grew into something much bigger: a reimagining of the way we live. With their refined architecture, harmony with nature and timeless aesthetics, these homes have touched not only us but everyone who visits. The reaction of every guest reminds us how right our decision was.”
The property features four Kontio houses: three customised Kontio Högsåra models and one customised triangular house. The farm covers 7,000 square metres and has a variety of trees, including fruit trees, as well as organic farming. The Kontio houses are ideally suited to the farm.
“Today, as we complete our fourth house, we look forward to spending most of our lives here in peace, surrounded by nature, in homes that are simple, safe and sustainable. We invite everyone to experience this way of life and rediscover peace and beauty in homes that respect nature. And perhaps to be inspired to create such a life in the green paradise of Sapanca, just a short drive from Istanbul.”
Kontio Högsåra - The Kontio model that shaped Vedat Bayrak’s dream
Alper Nemli, Kontio’s distributor in Turkey, highlighted the environmental benefits of wooden houses and demonstrated Kontio’s exceptional expertise in architecture and interior design. Vedat decided to choose Kontio as his partner after visiting Finland.
“When I visited Kontio’s headquarters and factory in Pudasjärvi, Northern Finland, I simply knew that Kontio was the right choice. I learned about log production, Kontio’s first-class expertise and the highest-quality technology behind its processes,” Vedat explains.
A main building and a guest house based on Kontio’s Högsåra collection were designed on the hillside. A local architect and interior designer took part in designing the project. The buildings feature many custom-made pieces of furniture. The harmonious colours and special details accentuate the décor. The light-coloured walls and ceiling, together with the wooden floor, provide a beautiful backdrop for the design. The peaceful atmosphere created by the harmonious wood and brown tones of the interior makes it a wonderful place to relax.
